For me it always seems that new music is a way for me to record time mentally. It allows me to instantly bring up the feelings and remember the good times in my life. Sometimes as recent as last week and sometimes many years ago. This feels so relaxing to me because being far away from home, this allows me to remember exactly how I felt when something good happen or some fond memory. Call me lame but music is just something that speaks to my soul.

Just got back from a wonderful trip home to CO. I decided to change the name of my blog because I feel like my perspective on life has really changed a lot lately. I feel like my own negativity was bringing myself and others down. I don't want to be one of those people and I don't want to waste my life with an "if I can just..." mentality. So much of what we do everyday completely depends on our attitude.

Yesterday at the airport I felt really overwhelmed, there were so many things going on around me that I just felt like I needed a quiet room to sit in with no noise at all. It is really difficult for me to come back to WA, when I have to say good-bye to so many friends and family that I love and care about so much. I do know that I feel very blessed to have such great people in my life. Thank you to everyone that made me feel welcomed home.

We went to a wedding this weekend and the metaphor of Christ and the Church comes to mind whenever I am at weddings. Many times it's the main portion of what the pastor talks about. It really just hits me, wow to God his church is a like a bride all white and prestine, beautiful, honorable and pure.

I'm getting ready to move down to Seattle in a few weeks. This will allow me to be closer to the heart of the city, even though Jay Z said "ain't no love in the heart of the city" I beg to differ because well lets face it, its all about how you look at things that really gives you your perspective. It's in this area called Greenlake which is a lot more young and fun has a lot of stuff to do within walking distance: restaraunts coffee shops parks and a big green lake, thus the name.

I feel that I need to speak on a matter that is near and dear to my heart. NPR because well lets face it where can you go when you don't want to pay for XM and we all know that commercial radio is bleh. The great thing about NPR is the fact that you can get such a diverse and different array of opinions. Not that I agree with everything they say but they do a good job of bringing both sides to light and actually discussing the issue instead of just highlighting the deaths and car accidents in the city that day. So don't feel like an old person when you tune in to your local listener support radio station, just feel refreshed from all the commercial stuff that you aren't being bombarded with.

I'm going to be in CO in a few weeks and I plan on having a whole lot of fun while I'm there.

I really enjoy beaches and parks. So I think one of the coolest things to do in Seattle is to visit all of the parks that are out there. Most of the my favorite ones have water, even more so if they have ocean but there are a lot of them on various lakes that are pretty sweet. My concept of lakes being from IN means that they're something like a pond but bigger lots of bugs and tall grass. So when people talk about Lake Washington you might think some of the previously mentioned details however such is not the case. Lake WA is really big and quite ocean-like. If you ever get the chance to visit me we will for sure be checking some parks out.

Also I stopped being a baby about not getting to see the sun. It is still quite cloudy here on ocassion but its something I have come to enjoy very much. Don't get me wrong I love feeling the sun on your skin and just soaking it up. At the same time I just love the cool refreshing feeling that you get when it's a little overcast and slightly raining. It takes an attitude shift, I think a lot of people generalize WA as a cloudy depressed state I know I did before I moved here. You know kind of like london but with more hippies and coffee. If you ever visit or live here you will really begin to gain an appreciation for why so many people call it home.

Two weeks ago I went camping on Shaw Island which is part of the San Juan Islands. It was a great time of relaxation and overeating. Also if you didn't know deer can swim, thats right I have heard from several people who live here that have seen them swimming in Puget Sound. We saw one on Shaw Island and I'm pretty sure they didn't let her hop on the ferry. Pretty amazing if you ask me, can you imagine swimming several miles with nothing but four tiny sticks for legs?
The next time you hit the beach dip your hair in the salt water and get it wet. For me its a very healthy thing kind of renewing sort of. That and it gives you cool hair, I don't know something about salt water I guess.

So, it's totally been like a million years since I've post Yo. No seriously I guess I have just been sittin' on my lazy A watching tv instead. I just got back from a weeks trip to CO and it was probably one of the most up and down trips ever. As most of you know my brother in law has cancer and so that was the main reason lacie and I came home. The day we got into town everything was great, we went out to the Red Lobster. The next was when Tim has surgery and hospital people being what they are fools almost got wrecked. They admitted Tim and told our group to go hang out in the waiting room. They would page us when he was ready and we could say goodbye and pray for him. So we wait about an hour more than it should have taken and go back to the nurses station they say yeah sorry we aren't going to be able to let you see him because we are running late as it is. Fools got wrecked and we saw him, but he was kind of out of it. Thats ok though because I prayed with him anyway.

More than a week later Tim is doing great. He still has a long way to go, but things look really good.

It was an exhausting week, families don't mix well during times of great stress. People act like A's and overall it was just a really weird week. Friday night I went out with old friends to the bars which just seemed weird. I wasn't really in the mood to get crazy, combined with one of my friends acting like a jerk and just the fact that I'm not in school anymore and my life has changed. I felt really out of place. Regardless it was still great to see all the people that I have missed so much since I moved.

What is so funny is that I really enjoy being at DIA I guess its like a small world of fantasy. You are leaving things behind or getting ready to discover new things when you are there. Just the feeling of that and the anticipation is something I enjoy in a weird way. It reminds me of Sunday afternoons when you want to take a nap instead of do homework even though you aren't really tired. I think we all do things like in our minds, have special places. Maybe thats why I love flying so much. It takes you out of your routine and puts you somewhere right away and that to me is just so amazing.

For the past week I have been attending mandatory training at work. The beauty of the whole deal is that training starts at 6:30 every morning for two weeks. Its not so bad though because I have been drinking coffee and we get out early. Back to the point though, have you ever noticed that humans like to have little things that give them joy like a cup of coffee, a cigarette, a beer, a soda on and on these things don't even have to be food. Some people even like peanut butter and crack sandwiches 'Tyrone biggums' you know what I'm talkin about. I hate to think of becoming a coffee drinker as an addiction but really I guess that is what it is. I suppose that it only becomes a problem when your fun little habit that you enjoy is unhealthy or linked to some sort of bigger psychological problem. To that end I guess it doesn't really matter, I believe we need to respect our bodies however some things are just lost in the course of life. Let's see what President Bartlett has to say about all (P.S. If he ran for president I would vote for him!!!)

~ Leo, "You know Mr. President if you don't smoke two cigarettes a day you will live longer" President Bartlett, "No, Leo it will just seem longer"

I watched the Super Whack Bowl on Sunday and needless to say I wasn't impressed with the game. Not because Seattle lost because I'm not claimin the Hawks as they are commonly referred to here, but because the game was terrible. Cheerful I know, however I did come away from the game with one important conclusion that I think you all might enjoy. I'm pretty sure they are twins or something...

This is the airline program I'm managing at work (the lavatories 777)

Unrelated but equally important Kevin Federline is a choad

http://www.youtube.com/w/Kevin-Federline-jamming-to-PopoZao?v=Q7Ys46KA4xw

and Gary Brolsma is the man

http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/numa.php

Four jobs you have had in your life:

Design Engineer - I was expecting a predictable love sort of movie but it was really a beautiful and funny movie in a unique sort of way. I guess it just shows you how important families are and it made me miss mine. It was a good relaxing way to spend a monday night.

Usually when I drive down to Bellevue it gives me some time to call home and see how everyone is doing. I always really enjoy these conversations. It's funny how when you move away from home a lot of times you grow closer to your family. People are the only thing that matter in this world.

So, this is my first Blog. Hmm what to write... well at the moment I am suffering from lack of sun exposure aka I need some freaking sunlight!!! Other than that I am quite well. In most exciting news I just got engaged to a wonderful woman by the name of Lacie. A date hasn't been set in stone at this point, but it will probably be a yearish from now. In other news I will be attempting to do my own taxes for the 2005 fiscal year. Things look on the up and up because I will qualify for tax exempt status for the money I made in Colorado and I should get money from the college education credit. My advice is if you are one of those tax handicapped people like myself (only because my dad did it for me) then you will want to buy a tax preparation program.

And now a somber moment. Even though moving to Seattle was one of the most exciting, fun and scary things I have ever done, I feel like I am here for a reason. Its easy for me to question that when it rains for 21 days in a row and you only see fading glimpses cloudy sky when you get off work every day. Even still it wouldn't be fair if I just wrote my being here off because of a little rain.

So right here and now being a flip flop wearing guy that I am I will set the tone for all Blogs that have come before me and all that will come after me...

"Where you from in Jamaica mon?" "By the beach Boooyyyeeee!"
